“The Rebel King” by Kennedy Ryan Review

The Rebel King is the second book in all the king’s men. It takes place after Lennix and Wallace are abducted. This book brought me joy and tears . It was incredibly written and I love the topics it touched. One thing I enjoy was the banter and diction between the characters. I did laugh a couple of times at their clap backs and comebacks at each other.

This book mostly follows the relationship between Maxim and Lennix while they continue their lives and try to make it work

This book was very good and I recommend it. I also can’t wait to read kimba’s book “Queen Move “ . All I can say is Kennedy has something on me now. I rate this book 4/5🌟

“The Kingmaker” by Kennedy Ryan Review

First of all , what the hell is that ending. Kennedy ma’am please don’t play with my emotions I loved this book so much that I read it in one go forfeiting sleep and when I was done I looked like a zombie . This is the first book im reading of Kennedy and im so sure now that I have opened a new place in my heart

I loved the interracial romance and strong female lead. The kingmaker gives just that . The man of the day is a son of an extremely wealth business man, brother of an ambitious politician, Ladies and Gentlemen meet Maxim Kingman Wade. Oh the love I have for maxim. Maxim is a beautiful, intelligent and driven man. He understands the community and his white privilege and is out to make a change in the world .

Our female lead is Lennix Moon Hunter, an indigenous Indian American. Her Activist mother and environment help shape her into the woman she is .Lennix is a driven woman who wishes to fight for her people, she her land and most importantly fight the good fight.

When Maxim and lennnix meet for the first time at a protest , they know that the connection they feel is real. When they meet four years later in Amsterdam, they finally collide and unfortunately it is cut short . The chemistry and tension is still felt ten years later as thought it was yesterday. Now they are at the peak of their careers, and nothing stands in their way.

The kingmaker is an incredible well written story which brings awareness to the disappearances and crimes done to indigenous people which go unnoticed or ignored. I loved every bit of the book and I’m running 🏃🏽‍♀️ to read the next book in the series “The Rebel King” . I rate this book 5/5🌟

“Twisted hate” By Ana Huang Review

The third book in the twisted series, twisted hate depicts the love story of Josh and Jules. I enjoy an enemies to lovers story any day but an enemies with benefits is much better. Twisted hate takes the cake

This is a best friend brother romance with the secret romance trope.

Jules finds a job in a free clinic which Josh accidentally happens to work as. He proposes a truce and they start from there .An enemies with benefits truce. I mean absolutely nothing can go wrong with that right?

Josh and Jules deepen in their “hate” relationship While battling a blackmail from someone of the past. But the inevitable question of whether it just sex or they falling in love arises.

I enjoyed this book. It did not disappoint. It was sultry, and I was grinning the whole time while reading the book. I loved the diction and banter between Josh and Jules. The backstory was nice and well written. I rate this a 4/5🌟

“Terms and conditions” by Lauren Asher Review

The second book in the Dreamland Billionaires series, terms and conditions shows the life of Declan, the oldest of the three Kane Brothers.

His Grandfather’s condition in his will is for Declan to get married and have a child before he can become the CEO. For any person this is a piece of cake , except that Declan has too much of an antisocial personality to even date someone not to talk of marriage.

Hence , a marriage of convenience proves to be the solution. His bride to be pulls out last minute and Iris , his long term assistant offers to help him out.

How long will it take before they realize that then marriage is more than what they bargained for?

I really enjoyed this book. Declan’s character is so good and I loved the banter between him and iris . I can’t help but also say my love for the special words they exchange . Because of it I can say ‘I love you ‘ in at least five languages now . This book was so refreshing and it helped me out of a reading slump. I rate it 4/5🌟

“The Flatshare” by Beth O’ Leary Review

The Flatshare is about Tiffany and Leon who share a flat and a bed . But the thing is they have never met. So How does that work you might ask? They share the bed at different times of the day . Leon gets the bed in the morning while tiffy gets the bed at night

Leon is a night nurse while Tiffany is a book editor. Tiffany finds herself sharing a bed with a total stranger amid financial crisis and heartbreak. Their relationship grows as they communicate by writing sticky notes and texting .

As a result of their arrangement Leon , a total introvert who only seems to like Terminally ill people is suddenly comfortable with Tiffany . And Tiffany is finally realizing the effects her last relationship had on her and is on a path of healing.

The Flatshare which initial purpose was to solve the housing problem unexpectedly becomes a home for two individuals.

Reading the Flatshare was like a breath of fresh air. It was well paced, I enjoyed the slow pace and I loved the issues it discussed in the novel. This is a recommended book that actually makes sense. It is a beautiful romance novel and I rate it 4/5🌟

“Transcendent Kingdom” by Yaa Gyasi Review

This book follows Gify, a Ghanaian- American who was born and has spent her entire like in Alabama. She is a Post graduate student currently undergoing her PHD in Neuroscience. Her final experiment researches reward seeking behavior in mice and neural circuits of addiction and depression.

On the surface level , gifty seems like a talented, intelligent young 28 year old with a quest for knowledge and to improve the world. But deeper, gifty is a troubled woman trying to find her way in a society where she tells abandoned and Betrayed by God, her family and society. Transcendent kingdom shows fifty’s experiences growing up as an immigrant facing racism, an addicted brother and broken family.

To me this novel is beautiful, an account of a woman who seems to be making it but everything is nothing but a shell. The exploration of topics of racism, Christianity, God, belief and mental illness was absolutely incredible. Reading this book made me reflect on some existing knowledge I had about belief , Christianity, mental illness and my overall concept of living. It is very impactful and I recommend it for everyone. I rate it 4/5🌟

“The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho Review

The Alchemist is the English translation of “O Alquimista” , originally published in Portuguese.

It depicts a story of a boy who turns his entire life because of a dream he has. This dream leads him meet a Gypsy woman for translation of the dream, a king who reassures him that the dream is real and other people throughout his journey serve to teach him an important lesson in the attainment of his Personal Legend.

I read this book in a day. It is an impactful book that makes you reflect on your life. It had some biblical references and showed some connections between religion and the universe.

One thing I noted from the novel was that the protagonist was never given a name. Throughout the book he was referred to as ‘the boy’. It brings me to the conclusion that the name is irrelevant as the journey can be experienced by anyone.

The late sucess for the book and difficulties in its publication brings me to conclude that “it’s only those who are persistent that achieve the Master Work”.

However I will say that the book sets impossible realities by saying “And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it”. It is a good thing to dream but in reality you must fulfill your responsibilities. I believe putting your entire life on hold, removing your only source of income to venture off into the unknown is reckless. But there must be dreamers for the world to be balanced right ?

Overall the book was nice and I believe it is a book everyone should read at least once in a lifetime. I rate it 3/5🌟
